Who We Are

Remmogo Signaling & Branding is a 100% Black-owned South African company specialising in emergency vehicle warning lights, vehicle branding, fleet graphics, and signage solutions. We are the sole authorised Whelen Engineering distributor for Sub-Saharan Africa, headquartered in Midrand, Gauteng.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information in two ways: directly from you when you contact us, and automatically when you visit our website.

Information you give us directly

When you complete our contact or enquiry form, or reach out to us via WhatsApp, we collect:

• Your full name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your company name (where applicable)
• The content of your message or project enquiry

Information collected automatically

When you browse our website, Google Analytics 4 automatically collects the following information. None of this data can be used to identify you as an individual.

• Your IP address (anonymised by Google before it reaches us)
• Browser type and version
• Device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet)
• Pages you visit and how long you spend on each
• The website or search engine that referred you to our site
• Approximate geographic location (country and city level only — not your street address)

Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device. Google Analytics places two first-party cookies: _ga and _ga_[ID]. These persist for up to 2 years and help us understand how visitors use our site. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking scripts.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only disclose your data to the third-party service providers listed below, and only to the extent necessary to operate this website and deliver our services.

We may also be required to disclose personal information if ordered to do so by a South African court, or if required by applicable law or regulation. We will take reasonable steps to notify you before doing so, where legally permitted.

International Data Transfers

Some of the service providers we use process data on servers located outside South Africa, including in the United States. POPIA section 72 requires that any country receiving your data must offer an adequate level of protection.

By using this website or communicating with us via WhatsApp, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in countries outside South Africa under the safeguards described above.

Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by South African law.

After the applicable retention period, your personal information is securely deleted or permanently anonymised so it can no longer identify you.

Your Rights Under POPIA

The Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the following rights regarding your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer at info@remmogo.co.za. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and respond in full within 30 days.

   Right of access (POPIA s23)
   You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time. We will confirm whether we hold information about you and provide it in a legible format.

   Right to correction or deletion (POPIA s24)
   If information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or out of date, you may request that we correct or delete it.

   Right to object to processing (POPIA s11(3))
   You may object to the processing of your personal information at any time, particularly where we rely on legitimate interest as our legal basis. We will consider your objection and cease processing unless we have compelling grounds to continue.

   Right to withdraw consent (POPIA s11(1)(a))
   Where we process your information based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before you withdrew.

   If we are unable to resolve your privacy concern to your satisfaction, you have the right to lodge a formal complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. See Section 13 for contact details.

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Under POPIA, processing personal information relating to a child requires the prior consent of a competent person — a parent or legal guardian. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about a minor, please contact our Information Officer immediately at info@remmogo.co.za and we will delete it without delay.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss, unlawful alteration, or disclosure. Our measures include:

• SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS) across the entire website
• Reputable managed WordPress hosting with server-level security hardening
• Access controls limiting which staff members can view personal information
• Regular WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates to reduce vulnerability exposure
• Contact form data stored exclusively within our secure WordPress environment

In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Information Regulator and all affected individuals as required by POPIA section 22, within a reasonable time of becoming aware of the breach.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, applicable law, or the services we provide. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website after an update has been posted constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised policy.

For material changes that significantly affect your rights or how we process your personal data, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you directly — for example, by email — where we hold your contact details and are legally permitted to do so.

Escalating to the Information Regulator

If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you have the right to lodge a formal complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa under POPIA section 69:
